Happy Easter! Today I'm thrilled to be with you and to share a fun tutorial on how to create a gift set, by using the Marks Paper Company Old Fashioned Courtship digital kit and incorporating some traditional items and paper as well. Here's what we will be creating today. Let's begin! Supply list: Old Fashioned Courtship digital kit (www.markspaperco.com/digital.html), Brads (by Recollections), Fragments (by Tim Holtz), Just for You (by SU stamps), Swarovsky Crystal Jewelry Findings, leather, charms (by Blue Moon), Bling (by Mambi), Fluid Chalk (by Colorbox) and Paper Glaze (by Aleen). Let's make the earrings: Using the digital kit, reduce the size of the graphics to 2/3. Print on matte photo paper. Place the Fragments of your choice on the paper, trace with a bone folder, trim as necessary, then add paper glaze. Gently drop the Fragment onto the glazed paper cutout. Be careful not to use too much paper glaze. Let dry. In the meantime, take the jewelry wire and the crystals to create the bead. Insert the bead, then do a simple half circle of the finding. Then wrap around the half circle to close it. Add an open jump ring to the pre-made ear wire, then attach the jump ring to the Fragment and add the crystal. Then close the pre-made earring. Next hang the earring on a hanger and seal the back of the earring with the paper glaze to protect the paper. Repeat the same process for the other earring. Follow the same process for the necklace. To create the envelope (the credit goes to my friend Jan, who introduced me to this technique) take a 12x12 Marks Paper Company patterned paper and fold it in half at an angle to form a triangle. With the fold at the bottom and the triangle pointing up, fold the right corner across until the point touches the left edge. Then fold the left corner across to the right edge the same way. Fold the top point down. Secure the middle with a brad or or add glue. You are done! This is a fun gift set in less than 45 minutes. Create a matching note card using the Marks Paper Company digital kit. Have fun, create your ART! Maggie . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Love those earings. I bought all the stuff to make my own, but I'm wondering how you added the shepherds hooks to the Tim Holtz pieces? Did you drill through the plastic? I tried to use my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole, but it just shattered the plastic.

Hi Heather:
How are you? thank you so much for doing this tut.
The fragments I brought were already predrill from Tim Holtz. Instead of using the cropadile, the best tool to use is the Fiskar drill tool, it works great and won't shatter.
Or you can get the fragment at Micheals or online.
Please let me know if you have any questions and also would luv to see what you create :)

Thanx, Maggie.
I pulled out my hubbies drill and finest bit(he's not home to stop me. LOL) and made my own holes. I've finished my earrings and necklace and have uploaded them to my blog if you want to see. Thanx so much for the tutorial.
