Hello, I am Stacy Marks the owner of Marks Paper Company. I have asked my design team to create a holiday project and answer a few holiday themed questions. I thought it would be fun to participate. Below I have answered my questions and created my holiday project.
I have made an early New Year's resolution... to sew more. That was really my first hobby outside my profession as a Graphic Artist. I was always fascinated by the quick turn-around project... taking a raw material like fabric and turning it into something great with a little time and energy. I got away from it since discovering my new passion for scrapbooking. So when I created the Winter Wrap Digital Kit I knew what I wanted to create.
Since it is the season... I am going to give this bag away. Post here from November 29th until December 6th midnight EST. I will pick the winner by random drawing and announce it on our blog on December 9th. Good luck!
Q: What is your most remembered holiday memory?
A: My Mom and Dad worked really hard to make our holidays special. They would always keep our gifts very secretive, even when we got older. I always loved a surprise. But one year (I might have been ten or eleven) I got up super early and snuck out into the living room to see if the gifts were under the tree. It was so dark but I could make out shiny bows on the packages because of a street light on the corner. I did not wake my family. Instead I got back in bed with great excitement wondering what was in all those packages. It is funny how the feeling stuck with me all these years. Every year when my husband and I put out the packages for our children, I can feel that same anticipation just like I was that little girl. I take a look around and hope my kids remember Christmas fondly as I still do.
Q: The best gift you ever received?
A: I have received some great gifts over the years but I believe last year was my favorite. My husband and I always make a pact not to buy gifts for each other at Christmas because we always usually get the things we need when we need them and concentrate on the kids. But last year I had my eye on a ring. It was not anything expensive but it just caught my eye. My husband surprised my with it. I was happy that he remembered exactly what I wanted and made it special by going through the trouble as to keep it a secret until Christmas morning. My kids did not even spill the beans.
Q: What is your favorite holiday indulgence?
A: I would have to say Cherry Pie. I can eat a whole pie myself and usually do. I don’t eat it at any other time of year. But at the holidays, someone in my family always makes it because it is a favorite.
Q: Do you have any special or unique holiday traditions?
A: Other than putting the decorations up the day after Thanksgiving and having a huge Italian meal on Christmas day... my husband and our children usually take a small trip over the vacation from school. One year we went to NYC. Another we went to
Q: What is on your wish list this year?
A: Nothing much. I enjoy making my list for my family and creating some special homemade treats.
Enjoy!
