I finally finished my projects for the Guest Daisy Diva spot for Cocoa Daisy. I love playing with the different papers and getting surprise packages from Tricia. It was challenging for me to use only what comes in that little box. But, I think they turned out okay. I loved the colors of the different papers and the adhesive cork has unlimited possibilities. I should go up on the site soon. Right now Kristina Contes is on there. Yeah... put me next to her. Is that a joke? I am glad I did not know that before hand... it would have added a lot of pressure to be like great or something. I was glad for the opportunity and maybe I will try it again sometime.
This is an 8 1/2 x 11 layout of our puppy Maya. I cut petals out of felt (that was included in the kit) and hand stitched them together. I ironed it flat. Just like that, a cute little flower. I also printed out some flowers from clip art and carefully cut with tiny scissors. I thought the page needed something free flowing on such a simple layout.
The second layout I created is of my son on one of my brother toys. I love Hambly Screen Prints but never used this one. I did not have any alphabets so I used the grid pattern and a white Sharpie and made my own. Of course I used machine stitching and lots of layering of papers.
A close up of the detail and the face of my very cute son, Sammy.
Detail of the grid, white Sharpie title.
This last layout is my least favorite. I don't know why. I just don't feel it like the other two. But it is complete and in my book it goes. Better luck next time. What I like about it is the flocked paper (included). I cut out the flowers and used them as embellishments. I do like the touchy feely things!
You can see the texture in the papers... it is cool! Oh and the pearl bling from K&Company (included).
My last project was a mini album. It is a clear acrylic album from D. Reeves Design House (yeah, this too was in the kit). I had fun with this. I have to hold up my title name given to me by Mimi as the Mini Book Queen! I created this for my favorite thing about my trip to Las Vegas, The Conservatory in the Bellagio Hotel. I liked how it turned out. Kind of like a picture book. I used some more floral clip art and printed it on library cards (included ) that I distressed. Althought I think I distressed everything… even the acrylic itself. Some day I will tell you a story of the melting and buckling acrylic mini album!
Thanks for looking. Have a good day!
Fabulous! All your projects are so pretty, I don't even think I can pick a favorite. Maybe the Maya one. Such a sweetie.
You did it, lived up to your name of the Queen of Mini Books! Can't wait to see you at Cocoa Daisy!
